About Carmela Arias



Fitness has always been a passion for Carmela. She is a National Certified Pilates Teacher since 2012. Carmela believes that having the ability and willingness to move your body to create your best life is awesome. She has been involved with fitness since her freshman year in high school, joining multiple sports and activities to stimulate her mind and body. Carmela earned a BS in Kinesiology from Western Illinois University and a BA in Recreation Management from the University of Iowa.  

Carmela has held positions in variou fitness organizations including senior fitness, sports performance, campus recreation, medical settings and also local fitness clubs. She discovered Pilates in college through a pilot program at the University of Iowa.  Pilates soon became the main program she taught and practiced.  

Carmela continues to add to her extensive education through research, courses, and workshops. “There is just so much to learn about teaching and practicing Pilates - for me,  it's a lifelong journey.  I'm excited to be on this journey and can’t wait to see what’s next”. - Carmela Arias
