The best of both worlds: fitness and Pilates
The goal of the workshop is to introduce and adapt fitness exercises while adhering to the principles of pilates to create unique exercises that increase strength, mobility, and balance. The exercises range from beginner to advanced with the majority being intermediate level. The exercises in this workshop can be performed on the Cadillac, Tower, or Fuse Ladder.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
- Experience a full intermediate / advanced fitness- based program on the Spring Wall (can be adapted for the Tower and Cadillac).
- Learn the proper form, biomechanics, regressions and progressions to new and traditional exercises.
- Understand and learn how to program for clients that are skilled athletes and fit individuals seeking a Pilates practice to enhance their performance.
WORKSHOP GOALS
- Present a full program filled with great new exercises for those clients that need and are ready for challenge in strength and body awareness.
- Discuss the exercises in terms of who they are most valuable for, who they might be contraindicated for, and how to program the exercises into specific workouts.
- Show creative programming with both traditional and non-traditional exercises on the Reformer.

Founder, Pilates Grad School
John Garey is a leading voice in Pilates education, with over 30 years of experience in movement, teaching, and instructor development. He is the founder of Pilates Grad School and creator of The Pilates IT Factor, a transformative approach to helping instructors master communication, presence, and impact in the studio.
John holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and has dedicated his career to elevating the teaching profession. He ran a successful Pilates studio and Instructor Training Center for 18 years, mentoring hundreds of instructors, and in 2015, launched John Garey TV (JGTV)—one of the first comprehensive online Pilates platforms, now home to over 1,000 on-demand workouts.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP), the only third-party accredited certification for Pilates instructors, and currently chairs the Marketing Committee. John is a passionate advocate for instructors becoming NPCP certified and for the power of continuing education to fuel growth, confidence, and long-term success.
